Homes of Hope – YWAM (Tijuana, Mexico)

Tijuana Mission Trip Details

Join Lutheran Church of Hope and Youth With A Mission San Diego/Baja in building a home for (and with!) a family in need. In continuation of our Advent 2022 Project, we’re sending teams of 15-25 Hopesters to our mission partner YWAM to take part in a three-night, four-day home build in Tijuana, Mexico. No construction experience required—if you can smile, there’s a place for you on a build team! Read more about the project on the Homes of Hope website.

Frequently Asked Questions

DO NOT BOOK TRAVEL until you have been contacted by the Missions Department at Hope. YWAM will pick everyone up from the San Diego airport on the Friday of your trip weekend, but times are to be determined. We want to verify all times before you begin booking airfare. Once at the San Diego airport, YWAM staff will bus you across the border to their campus in San Antonio del Mar or Ensenada, on the ocean side of Tijuana.

Trip participants will stay at the modern YWAM base in San Antonio del Mar (SADM) or Ensenada.

The $250 total cost covers building expenses, food, and lodging during your Friday-Monday trip. Airfare, on-the-way lodging (if applicable), and meals before Friday evening are not covered in the $250 cost.

A current U.S. passport is required. Visit for more information on acquiring a passport. If you are traveling with minors and ONLY ONE (or zero) parent/guardian is present, you must complete the Minor Authorization Affidavit Form and have it notarized to bring with you through U.S.-Mexico customs. We’ll provide this form after you register!

No required immunizations. Click here for more info on recommended vaccinations.
