Mission Trip Details
Team participants will join ENLACE as this mission partner expands their work to fulfill their mission of “equipping churches to transform communities.” ENLACE has been equipping local churches to transform communities within El Salvador, Nepal, and the U.S. since 1993. Team participants will not only learn from church and community leaders about their hopes and dreams for their communities, but they will also engage in community projects (guided by local pastors), such as building eco-stoves or home gardens for food security, depending on availability and need. The goal of this trip is for participants to leave those we meet feeling empowered, encouraged, and supported for their Kingdom-building work.

Trip Cost: $950 + airfare (usually between $500-700)*

*Depending on airfare costs at the time of purchase, as well as group size, this total trip cost could fluctuate. Changing COVID-19 measures may also impact the trip/cost; the Missions Department will make this information available on a case-by-case basis throughout the pre-trip process. Please be aware of this before applying!

The team will depart from Des Moines and fly together into San Salvador where the team will be met by representatives from ENLACE.
Trip participants will stay in a modest hotel.
The total cost covers airfare, food, and lodging. Passport and vaccination costs, food while travelling, and souvenirs are additional.
A current U.S. passport is required. Visit http://travel.state.gov/passport for more information on acquiring a passport.
A COVID-19 vaccination is required for entry into El Salvador. Currently, a negative COVID-19 test is also required both for entry into El Salvador and reentry into the U.S. Please consult your physician on other recommended vaccinations, which may include: Hepatitis A, typhoid, and preventative medication for malaria. Two months before departure, at least 50 percent of the trip total must be paid. One month prior to departure, the trip must be paid for in full.
