Spirit-Led Worship for Young Adults

REVIVE is Hope’s grace-based ministry for young adults in their 20s and 30s that offers ways to connect, worship, grow, and serve with people in the same stage of life. Whether you are new to Des Moines, just graduated college and are taking the next step into adulthood, are getting curious about Jesus for the first time, or want to deepen your faith, we’d love to invite you to REVIVE on Thursday nights!

FAQ

Want to know what you’re getting into before you show up at REVIVE? Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get!

What can I aspect?

REVIVE has a very chill come-as-you-are vibe! You can come in and grab a seat or talk with the Greeting Team in the back of the room.

Every Thursday, REVIVE starts at 7:00 pm and goes until around 8:15 pm. The worship service contains songs, announcements, a Bible reading, and a biblically based message that’s relevant for 20-and-30-somethings!

What if I’m showing up for the first time or alone?

A handful of young adults with REVIVE lanyards will be hanging out in the hallway and the back of the Chapel. That’s the Greeting Team! Feel free to stop and talk with one of them and let them know that you’re new. They have a welcome gift for you!

You can also just walk into the Chapel, grab a seat, and observe what happens before you talk to anyone. We’re introvert-friendly!

What age is REVIVE for?

REVIVE is unashamedly for young adults in their 20s and 30s!

For anyone older or younger than that, everything at REVIVE is created with 20s and 30s in mind. There are other amazing ministries across Hope for those younger or older than the REVIVE target age! For example, check out Kairos (college) and Adult Ministries (30s and beyond).

Do I need to check in or register?

Nope—just show up! If you’re new and want to meet someone before you show up to REVIVE, fill out our short connect card.

Is childcare provided?

Yes! Childcare for ages 11 and under is available in the nursery from 6:45 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday nights during REVIVE.

You can also keep your little(s) with you during REVIVE. There is a Family Room in the back of the Chapel you can move to if anyone gets squirrely!

I’m a young adult with special needs. What options are there for me?

REVIVE has many young adults with special needs that are a (welcome and active!) part of the community here.

If sensory overwhelm is a concern, feel free to wear headphones or worship in the Chapel Family Room in the back of the Chapel.

Many young adults with special needs serve in various roles around REVIVE. If you’d like to know more, just ask!

We also know the worship service at REVIVE isn’t quite what some people are looking for. Hope also has a longtime volunteer who leads a Bible Study for young adults with special needs on Thursday nights.

Are you a young adult with the gift of music?

If you’re a young adult in your 20s or 30s and you’d like to audition for the REVIVE Young Adult Ministry Worship Team, please email Jacob, the REVIVE Worship Coordinator, at [email protected] to apply! From there, you can connect about time commitments, auditions, and any other questions you may have.

REVIVE Hangouts

Led by volunteers or staff, hangouts are events designed to get young adults together around a common interest. Take part in a girls’ night out, a boating afternoon, ice skating, a concert, brunch, or a service project—or come with a new idea for others to hang out with you!
