Honduras Medical Mission Trip Details
A short-term mission for doctors, mid-level providers, nurses, EMS personnel, and other health/medical to San Matias, Honduras! We will be partnering with MDM Honduras to provide primary care ‘medical brigades’ to rural villages that have little access to health care. While there, we’ll also bless and be blessed by participating in several building/construction projects (e.g. pouring concrete floors in homes for families living on bare ground, constructing a home) as well as hanging out and playing with the local school kids who participate in a faith-based after school program in their villages.
Trip Dates: September 20-27, 2025
Trip Cost: $1,700-$2,200 (depending on airfare)*
Trip Open to: Medical professionals and their family and friends, all ages welcome (priority given to medical professionals).
Focus: Medical brigades, working with vulnerable children, construction, partner support
Work level: Moderate to heavy

*Depending on airfare costs at the time of purchase, as well as group size, this total trip cost could fluctuate. Changing COVID-19 measures may also impact the trip/cost; the Missions Department will make this information available on a case-by-case basis throughout the pre-trip process. The team will depart from Des Moines and fly together into Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Upon arrival, the team will be greeted by MDM staff and taken to San Matias.
Trip participants stay in a dormitory-style building. Bathrooms and showers are available.
The total cost covers airfare, food, and lodging. Passport and vaccination costs, food while travelling, and souvenirs are additional.

A COVID-19 vaccination is not currently required for travel to Honduras. However, this may change. Please consult your physician on recommended vaccinations which may include Hepatitis A, typhoid, and preventative medication for malaria. Click here for more info on recommended vaccinations.
Two months before departure, at least 50 percent of the trip total must be paid. One month prior to departure, the trip must be paid for in full.
